                  On watching the trailers i was skeptic that the director of the movie has cast Sivakarthikeyan as hero falling to halo effect(I am a fan of siva and not taking any credit away from him).But on watching the movie it became obvious that sivakarthikeyan played only a small part in the movie.Built around the lives of young boys  making a living on marina beach, the story starts with the scene of ambigavathy(the lead protagonist boy) arriving at chennai with the catchy 'Vanakkam Valavaikum chennai' song played on the background.He goes on to make friendship with fellow vendor boys accompanied by a beggar grandpa.The story moves on with sub plots revolving around different characters and ends with the message of the importance of educating children.

Characters & Sub plots..

Ambigavathy(Pakkada Pandiyan)..

                Ambigavathy can well be acclaimed as the hero of the movie.He sells water packets on the beach,makes friendship with fellow vendors,strikes a grandson-grandpa relationship with a old beggar,gets depressed when his friend is snatched away by police and finally emotes well when the old beggar dies..



Nathan & Swopnasundari(Sivakarthikeyan & Oviya)..

                Sivakarthikeyan plays a jovial romeo role and brings up his funny attitude on the screen along with Oviya who plays his lady love character.They break up in a funny way with Siva sending her aapu,rivet,pannada in real..




Sundarrajan(Old beggar) & Jithan Mohan(Postman) ..

                Ambigavathy meets an old beggar in the very first scene who goes on to accompany the vendor boys.He falls in love with them,helps them by sending them to children's home on seeing their sufferings,gets frustrated when he is not treated well and finally dies having got admission for ambigavathy and fellow vendor boys..
              Postman uncle enters the screen being asked to judge by the boys for their game of who pees the longest,later on again for who pees the most.He chides them but later on comes forward to award them trophy for a cricket match and accompanies them till the end..
Mentally disabled role & Jayaprakash(Teacher)..
             A mentally disabled character claims to have rent marina to the beach comers and bursts into fury on seeing couples together, well adding flavor to the movie.
             Pandiraj conveys his message through Jayaprakash(i became his fan too after watching him in pasanga,yutham sei and a few other movies).A very small role for him and he does well..
Ambigavathy's friend..
            Pulled to marina after absconding from home he becomes Ambigavathy's close friend and provides him accommodation on the beach.Having pelt stone at a  police offer's son's head he is being searched by two police men who also add humor to the movie.He is snatched away by them and is produced at the police officer's home where a satirical end follows..

             Home to vendor boys,beggars,romantic couples marina also stands as home to the movie's plot and serves as its backbone..

Director Pandiraj has written a story around the lives of young boys again and has drawn the plot well, though a bit slow moving at few places.
